A chosen career as a designer can be a wonderful curse. Being
experimental, and going wild with designs, testing new fabrics, drawing
ferocious fashion figures and accessories can be the best days at work.
But having to stop and take into account all the factors: Target market,
Weather, Time of Year, Sellability, Wear Ability, and Cost Point. This
can sometimes wiplash on your design space, and can get very frustrating
when you dont get your own way on your designs. Living in Bali allows
me to access the fabric markets, tailors, manufacturers, Gold Smiths,
Silver Smiths, Leather Makers and everything in between. This is my
heaven, being amongst the people, having more choices, more options, and
building relationships with those I work with, and having the ability
to travel cheaply to surrounding Asian countries to expand my options
even further, its just a designer bliss! Here are a few super sneaky
samples that I have had made up, and are in waiting for production, I
hope you like!
